Errors! Help, store supposed to open today!

I hope someone can help me. The programmer I was using is in the middle of a move and I cant get ahold of him, so maybe someone here can help. I have errors all over my pages and none of my images on my product_info pages are showing. My store is supposed to open today, but I have to get this fixed first!

Here are the errors:

Warning: imagejpeg() [function.imagejpeg]: Unable to open '/home/gourmets/public_html/cart/bmz_cache/0/01a3a20351e2dfa10b362e8e1aaac82e.image.110x109.jpg' for writing in /home/gourmets/public_html/cart/includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php on line 652

There are multiple ones of those all over the pages. Someone had told me that it was a permissions problem, but I changed all the folders and files in the bmz_cache folder and the bmz_image_handler.class.php file to 777, but it still didnt fix the errors.

Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it? Im getting desperate now! Thanks!

Well I figured out what the problem was. However I have a question about it. I had initially changed all folders to 777 and the class.php file, but all of the image files themselves had to also be changed which I wasnt aware of. So, at least its working now.

But for the question...are there any security issues with having all of these folders and files writeable by anyone? With all the hackers out there including many who have successfully hacked into my server and other sites in the past, I just worry about things like this. So, will these 777 permissions cause any security issues? Or is there anything that I do to prevent any problems? Thanks!

I believe folder permissions should be 755 and file permissions should be 644.
