background image for the tables

SO...I've been reading tutorials for days and I'm still not really getting the whole system. What I'm trying to do now is modify the tables with all the product links etc. to have a background image instead of color, can anyone help me out? sorry if this is a newb question.

Not quite sure what you mean by "tables"...

Settings to alter colours / bg-images are generally achieved by editing your css files.

sorry i meant the layout boxes, so just change a CSS tag? which one do i have to change ? sorry really new to zencart

The standard CSS files that govern general styles are in your TEMPLATES sub-directories - in the TEMPLATE folder that you are using to render your zenshop.

If you have NOT installed a custom template, these will be in TEMPLATES/CLASSIC/CSS

The main stylesheet is stylesheet.css .

There are about 700 lines of code here (code = css phrases) and you will need to scroll down until you find the style defines for the sideboxes. You will edit these as you feel necessary.

Afraid I can't give you a lesson on CSS, but there are lots of good tutorials on the internet.

You can view source to see what tags are output before the elements in question...

Or you can get the Firefox browser with its Web Developer extension. That will allow you to look up exactly which tag(s) affect each element.
