New to Zen Cart and just bought the manual, but I need an idea of potential solutions before the manual is scheduled to arrive! Here's the situation:
We're selling tickets to events, so set them up as individual products. Ticket price depends on whether buyer is member, non-member or student (no validation here, we're using the honor system for now), so we set up "member status" option name and the 3 option values with the different prices - so far, so good.
Now we want to allow buyer to order additional tickets for guests. For each guest we need to capture name and employer (buyer inputs to textbox), and guest's member status so we can charge the right price. And that's where we got stuck - how do we allow buyer to order unlimited # of tickets and select correct member status and input appropriate name/employer info for each guest?
Finally, we'll need a printout of ALL tickets purchased by event with name of each buyer and each guest (so we can print out name tags).
Is this doable without custom coding? If yes, GREAT, I'll wait for the book and try to figure it out. If no, anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks!
