Default Payment processing error with Auth's AIM : this market type cannot be processed

Every time I try to check out (in TEST mode), I get this error:

"(TESTMODE) Transactions of this market type cannot be processed on this system. - Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct any information and try again or contact us for further assistance."

I'm assuming this came from AUTH (nice to know I got through to them), but not sure what a "market type" is - anybody know? And how does Zen tell Auth what market type it is?

And then again, what if the message wasn't from Auth?

    Thanks!

That message is coming from authorize.net.
You'd be best advised to talk to them directly about the "market type" message, as it likely refers to the type of account you have or the selection of settings currently active within your account with them.

Thanks - appreciate the quick response. Would also like to add how impressed I am with ZenCart and its Support team. I'm fairly new to the open source world (made major career change about 8 months ago), and have created a couple of dynamic sites with MySQL and PHP more by trial-and-error than anything else. I have looked at dozens of open source e-com systems, downloaded and played with far too many, then found Zen - WOW! Powerful, flexible and up-to-date system with an active user group where everyone seems to have a positive, friendly and supportive attitude. I almost feel like I found a new home.

Just received Goh Koon Hoek's book this morning and can't wait to explore!

    Thanks again.

Thanks for the kind words, rbobzin ... it is always great to hear about positive experiences with Zen Cart in comparisson with other carts ...

As you have a chance to read your new book, consider taking a moment and posting a Review and Rating on the site at:

    http://www.lulu.com/content/466605

NOTE: it can be a tad confusing to post the Rating and Review as you must be logged in ... then, to set a Review you need to select a gold star where the left is the lowest rating and the right is the highest rating ...

We have been very pleased with the receptiveness of the book and hope you are as well ...

Yup, message was indeed frim Auth.net. It appears client signed up for wrong account type - retail instead of ecom. Retail accounts require card to be present during transaction, i.e. the checkout is done at the brick&mortar store where the card is physically presented to cashier, while ecom allows online card info input by user from anywhere.

    Thanks again!
