406 Error

*waves* i came to zen cart via banging my head on the computer after a month dealing with oscommerce issues. my hosting service is ipower.com.

on to my problem of the hour...
during installation i made it to the area of save your system files ( you know the one where it asks you where you want your paths to go) well. when i went to *save* i got a lovely 406 error stating that this:

[B]Not Acceptable[/B]

 An appropriate representation of the requested resource /zenshop/zc_install/index.php could not be found on this server. 
 Apache/1.3.33 Server at ellenaldesigns.com Port 80

i am really new to the whole e-commerce way. i really want to streamline my web to the commerce way since i am expanding this year. so please please help me before i jump off the roof with my computer flaying behind me.

1.) am i doing something incredibly incorrect
2.) have aliens invaded my hosting service and really do not want me to go commerce way of life
3.) is this a normal thing
4.) should i get back on the horn with ipower and speak to them about this new problem of the hour- ( my last database with oscom was not speaking to server- we are still trying to figure out that issue)

please oh please wise ones of the internet forums- help me!

Suggest you search for ipower using the forum search. You should find some threads with other experiences.

Add me to the club. I signed up with ipower, when I get to the system setup section of the install and hit "save system settings", I get :

Error 406-
Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /zc_install/index.php could not be found on this server.

The directory exisits and is visable with appropriate permission settings.

Don't know if this is related but when I tried to load a ".php" file using their ftp web browser interface to my web root, I got a message saying ".php" was not an acceptable file type.????

Can anyone out there shed some light on this? iPower tech support line is " We don't support this software and there is something wrong with the code".

Apparently the error is caused by a misconfiguaration in the server mod_security setting. an adjustment to the .htaccess file fixed my problem:



use this code

SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off

it worked for me!
