Idea or Suggestion Exporting orders from Zencart

Hi. We are considering using Zencart for our website, but we want to be able to export order information into one of our databases. I can't seem to find any information about exporting orders in FAQ's or on the wiki site. Does anybody know if this is possible using Zencart, and if so, how easy it is?

    Thanks so much!

You can use one of several bolt-on modules:

Superorders or sales report. They will export data as CSV or TXT files, that can then be imported into other databases / spreadsheets

You can also build your own php script to export data from the database, or even do a query from your MS Excel or MS Access programs.

Thank you for replying- I'm just starting to wonder- is Zencart easily compatible with Macs and a Mac database? We are a Mac based company.

    Thanks

No reason why it shouldn't zen-cart runs on a mysql DB , you can extract the data from this in any format you like, usually csv can be read by most applications.

I have several scripts / mods that export
    orders for reporting,
e-mail address's fopr moving into bulk e-amil applications,
and accounting info into sage accounts .

you can use adobe dreamweaver, Photoshop for your editing , and host it on a linux server , and you have not given a penny / cent to Mr Gates at Microsoft !

Can you elaborate on how you export your info so that sage accounts can use the data?

    Thanks

Thought I would provide an update.

    I used this contrib:
Export invoice totals to .csv file for Excel use
    http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=170

as a base and altered it for my needs.

I now export the orders in the correct format for sage instant accounts to import via file>import.

    Works great.

    Hi Craig,

I'm trying to do exactly this, with Sage Instant Accounts. I don't suppose there's any chance of nicking a copy of your modded scripts is there please?

    Many thanks

    Simon
