PayPal IPN Required Info AFTER 1.3.7 Patch Install

Hello, everyone...

I've seen other posts here related to this problem, and I tried the solutions, but it still doesn't repair the error, and I see nothing regarding anyone dealing with the problem at this particular stage.

This is regarding the "Some required information is missing or incomplete. Please correct your entries and try again." error that occurs at PayPal, upon checkout.

1. I upgraded to Zen Cart 1.3.7 two days ago.
2. Uninstalled PayPal IPN and Express Modules
3. Installed the March 21, 2007 PayPal patch
4. Re-installed both PayPal IPN and Express Modules, and reconfigured with all of my IPN and API info.

However, I still get the error, upon checkout.

Checkout now shows two separate PayPal options, since I installed Express. IPN is the one where there seems to be the problem. If it can't be resolved, I would just then like to know if it's possible to keep the PayPal IPN option from appearing, so that only PayPal Express is shown, since that appears not to result in the same error.

1. were you getting the "information missing" error message *before* you upgraded to v1.3.7? What version did you upgrade from?

2. if you simply turn off the PayPal IPN module in the admin, then you are free to offer only Express Checkout, and thus the IPN option will not appear on the checkout-payment page.

Thanks for the fast response.

I upgraded from 1.3.6, which was my first ever Zen installation. I was still in the middle of customizing, when I upgraded to 1.3.7, so haven't ever gone into a full launch yet... but I don't recall getting that error in early tests, in the previous install.

That's great to know that I'm allowed to turn off IPN. I was afraid to try that, thinking that it would interfere with PayPal Express Checkout - I thought Express would only work if IPN was also installed. I'll try switching off IPN later when I get up in the morning.

I truly appreciate your help. Just that one piece of information really helps a lot!

Thank you, again. I disabled PayPal IPN, and everything seems to be fine.

Customers without PayPal accounts can still quickly pay through the PayPal Express module, so that works for me!
