    Default Attributes question

I am a bit confused as to if Zen-Cart can do what I want for my site.

I have one image for 3 sizes of silk ribbon (4mm - 7mm & 13mm) and would like for the customer to be able to add multiple quantities for each size and would like to avoid creating a separate page for each size ribbon. The way I have it on my old site shows the image of ribbon with 3 quantity boxes of each size ribbon. Is this possible with Zen-Cart?

Here's a link to my old site to show what I am talking about

    Thanks,
    Beth-Katherine

    Kinda ... but different ...

In Zen Cart you would make an
    Option Name: Size
    Option Type: Radio or Dropdown

    Option Value:
select Option Name Size and then create:
    Option Value name: Small
    Sort Order 10
    Option Value name: Medium
    Sort Order 20
    Option Value name: Large
    Sort Order 30

Now go to the Attributes Controller and find your Product ...

Next, add your Attributes by selecting the Option Name and matching Option Value ... you can also set separate prices and weights here if you need to ...

HINT: install a test directory such as:
    /zencart_v137

Make a test database and username ...

Install Zen Cart v1.3.7 and include the demo products in this play area ...

Now you can see examples of how many of the 1000s of features of Zen Cart work ...

Thanks Linda I will work on your suggestions, however I am having trouble I think with Safari not showing the products to choose from and when I switched to IE Safair started acting weird. Time I think to pour over the manual as I can't see where to add in the names of the options.

Under Catalog ... there is the Options Name Manager and the Options Values Manager ... these are for adding/editing the Option Names and Option Values ...

There is also a handy Option Name Sorter and the Option Value Sorter to help with arranging the display order of these Option Names and Option Values ...

Then you add them to the Product in the Attributes Controller ...

Ok I think I've got it. Now I need to organize the ribbons better on the main page as IMO they look horrible.
Any suggestions on how to put a box around each image or at least spacing between them?

Are you doing apples and apples?

    You appear to be saying:
    Available in 3 sizes: $5.20-4yards, 7mm $5.70-2yards, 13mm $5.70-2yards

I get the extra $0.50 on the two attributes ... and that appears very clear to me ...

But ... where does the 4yards vs 2yards come into play? Does it matter?

The yardage info is the packaging of the different size ribbons. I need to clarify that info on the ribbons pages but the attributes are correct. Thanks for your help.

I am confused a bit onto how to make it easier for the customer to order every size and quantity they want on just one pass, any way to do that?

On my old site one can order 2 skeins of 4mm and 7 skeins of 13mm on the same order. The way the Zen-cart is set up now they will have to order twice which may frustrate the ladies as they usually order tons of ribbon at the same time.

Not really unless you were to really do a lot of customization ...

You could make it where they do not go to the shopping cart so that they can order one set of attributes then order the next ...
