adding a customer from the Admin side

Howdy

Is there a way to add a customer -- not edit an existing customer -- from the Admin side of ZenCart ?

[On several sites I'm working on there'll be a restricted set of users. We don't want users to be able to register themselves from the Store side of ZenCart.]

One way is to require approval over the automatic method and this is in the admin.

Or I believe that there is a module in the downloads area to manually add a customer from the admin

The module in the Downloads area did the trick.

The module is 'Add Customers from Admin' by aerodynamic_hippo.
It's in the Admin Tools section of the Downloads. Nice piece of work.

This contribution is just what I was looking for. However, I would like to switch off some of the required fields. Is there any way to do this?

Sorry for jumping in like this, but this thread is on the path I'm traveling. Although I do wish to go further: that is import an external customer list INTO Zen Cart.
Will your version include this facility?
If so, when can we expect to see it available to the masses?
And last question: will it work with the add-on "Admin Profiles" by Kuroi (another excellent piece of work, I might add.)

I would like to add customers through admin. I have downloaded the files but it does not give you any instructions on where to put the files. can anyone help please.

Hi,
Just installed this module on my test server. Works great. The description from the download page states: optionally send them a welcome e-mail which includes their password. When I did a test, I got the welcome e-mail but it did not have the password.

Ok I found the password in the email, the email formating some how got goofy.

Great module, this will help my with my phone orders.

added this mod and when I click on the add customer inside admin area, I get a blank html screen.

web page can not be found, 404 error.

Any hints?

Others have installed this with out issue. Go figure for me.

OK, so it has to do with the code. That is, if I have renamed my "admin" to something else for security, the mod will not find the url correct? Hence the 404 error.
So, I guess I will try to change the "admin" to "my admin" in the code to see if that fixes the issue.
Please someone let me know if I am way off base. This stuff is new to me.
