However, (since most ask this information because they want to bypass the split), be advised that bypassing the splitting of the information is STRONGLY DISCOURAGED due to the security risks inherent in doing so, not to mention the liability problems your business may encounter..

I don't want to stop the split from occuring I am actually interested in seeing if I could be made more secture using an encryption key or something.

Yes, that sort of thing can be done. You'll have to get involved with setting up shared and private certificate/keys too in order to do that.
