Custom Use Of ZenCart

I've a complex SQL Server product database, with categories, sub categories, cross-product associations, etc. I have a custom cart too that does the cart management for me.
I'm looking at a cart solution that can help me in customer management and cart management.

Putting it another way, is it possible to use zen cart only for customer management and cart management (adding to cart/view cart/checkout, etc) with my existing database?

For example, if a user clicks on "Add To Cart", link all I've to do is send price, quantity, product information and zen cart manages that till the checkout along with customer checkin.

Well... short answer...

Anything's possible if you are prepared to chuck enough money and time at it...

A skilled dbase expert should be able to build query bridges between two data sets.

They would have to have expert knowledge of ZC's functionality AND your database's functionality.

...such an expert may need his/her palm crossed with much silver!

Zen Cart is not a backend application. It's the entire ecommerce solution, so my short answer to your question is no.
