Upcoming Products ..

When a product is expected at a future date it shows up as "upcoming", but it has to be activated to show up as "upcoming", but this meant it also showed up as a "new product" and technically was available to purchase, so I set it as "sold out", but technically this isn't really accurate.
Am I missing something ?
I've gone through the Configuration panel and the catalog panel but I don't see how else to do it.

Yes ... this is a bit of a misnomer that we will be addressing in a future relase ...

Why? 'cause it bugs me too ...

How did it come to be such a goober and misleading type of data? We'll the old case of old code and concept never addressed ...

But no, it does not work in multiple ways ... so those who want to manipulate their Products base on products_date_added products_date_available in multiple ways based on stock, time frame etc. do not have a lot of built in options at this time for really managing products based on date ...

Good news is ... when something starts to bug the coders on the Zen Cart Development Team ... we usually will come up with some slick methods to add features for your specific needs as well as take it much further than you dreamed of or give you more wishes after we finish so we have to re-write it a couple three times to make everyone happy and provide you with the best of the best ...
