UPS Shipping question

Is there a way to set up UPS (and FEDEX which I haven't installed yet) to allow the customer to put in their UPS account # so that shipping will be charged back to the customer placing the order. My client will have industrial type items being sent to large stores and corporations and apparently the customers like to use their own account # when having something shipped. Is this possible?

nope this will not work with fedex,
Im pretty sure it will not work with UPS either,

Okay, now I have a ponder for you. Can you think of a way that I might add an option (separate from the fedex and ups choices) that would allow the customer to input their own account # and then have my client input that manually upon shipping the products? It could even be put in the "notes" field, but they would need to choose a radio button for that option. Are there any generic shipping tools I could use that would accomplish this?

You could use the purchase order module, and change free shipping verbage to read customer supplied shipping,

it would be a live sale ( with no shipping added ) then the large company would fill in all of the relevant information and fax it in
