Center Column extra box

Hey everyone, i'll just start by saying absolutley excellent cart, none better and i plan on contriubting to the project. I'm going to purchase the book tommorow when i get paid

The problem i'm having is. I want on the home page, as well as other pages, put text, under the featured products, when you edit the home page text, define_main_page.php, the text appears above.

Forget for doing this on the other catagories pages. I'd be happy just to get text below on the homepage. I can do it, well sort of, by editing the featured products box (which i've renamed to hot deals), however that shows on the other pages.

Is there away to add an extra central coloumn box that appears below the featured products?

I'd really appreciate any help.
