UK zones

Hi

I have got all my tax zones sorted now onto shipping! I need to offer free shipping to UK mainland orders and charge £20 to N Ireland which is part of UK and £30 to the Republic of Ireland.

I have the countries all set up and all the counties within (but the N Ireland ones are in with the UK ones also!)

Channel Islands CB CBI
Isle Of Man GB IMN
Northern Ireland GB GBR
ROI Republic of Ireland IE IRL
United Kingdom GB GBR

What I am asking because Northern Ireland and UK are ineffect all the same country, do I pick zone rates. I have the freeshipper enabled on all my products as mainly sell to mainland UK.

I am confused! I see there are 3 options for zone shipping, which I don't need to base it on weight, just per order.

And on the free shipper it says only to the specified zone which is UK (which includes N Ireland!)

Shipping Zone
If a zone is selected, only enable this shipping method for that zone.

Have you looked at Kev Polley's "UK Template" mod... it sorts this out nicely.

Yup I have this Mod/Template installed with all the counties in for those countries.

I have this :

Number of Zones: 7

Number of Tax Rates: 2

Date Added:

Description:
UK VAT

But when the dropdown comes for shipping and only do for this zone, only UKVAT comes up, I need to get inside these Zones, how do I do that?

Hi,

A much better option, in my biased opinion, is to use the new Region Tables shipping module to set up shipping based on the customer's postcode.

Of course, this relies upon customers entering their postcodes but setting up all the counties for the UK is irritating (on our clients stores County is not required but postcode is because of this irritation! ;) ).
