Local Sales Tax Mod (with admin!) for testing

Unfortunately, there are no mods as yet set up to deal with counties. It seems to be a continuing dilemma for many zenners.

Take a look at the following post

It explains how to set up counties within a state as zones.

If you do that and then combine it with the local tax mod then you can apply tax by zip code to specific counties.

Does that make sense to you?

I just downloaded the mod from the downloads section and all that is in there is the .php file......isn't there supposed to be a .sql file too?

If installing for the first time please download and install version 2.0a first.

Don't suppose anyone could tell me where the link to version 2.0a might be hiding at eh? Either my eyes have been playing tricks on me or I can't find it.

I can't get my store up and running until I get this mod and get it installed either...Washington State just went from origin based tax to destination based tax in July .

Its on the downloads page for the mod just below version 2.1.
Just scroll down the page a bit and look for:

Local Sales Tax Mod Version 2.0a
Added support for Tax Classes. Each tax rate must now be
associated with a specific tax class allowing for correct
tax calculations with non-taxable items.

**Updated code and fixed calculation bug.
Also added debugging option to module install to help find duplicate sales tax rates.

I've sung your praises in here for this mod many times... The slickest solution to a problem that keeps getting bigger everyday! One quick question for a problem I've recently encountered. For the state of California I am using "City" as the filter for application of the local sales tax. The problem I'm running in to is when a customer fails to capitalize the city name, the tax is not applied. Is there a way to change the mod to be less fussy with case sensitivity? so say "Oak view" will work as well as "Oak View" or do I need to go through and create redundant duplicate records for any and all UC/LC possibilities?

Give this a try replace the following file with the attached:

catalog\includes\modules\order_total\ot_local_sales_taxes.php

Let me know if that works for you.
