    Default Always Open to Show SubCategories feature problem

    Hey there-

    I would like to have my subcategories always open. So i turned this on in the admin tool under my layout settings in the configuration dropdown by selecting a value of 1 for Categories - Always Open to Show SubCategories. However, they still only expand when you click on them and i'm at a loss for how to fix this so help would be great!

    Thanks!

    The default categories sidebox does not allow you to have *all* categories and subcategories auto-expanded simultaneously by default.

    If you want that functionality, use one of the various contributor-supported categories sidebox contributions in the downloads area.

    Then I don't understand what that switch does. Why is there a contribution for this if it's configurable in the admin right there? I'm a bit confused (as you can see...)

    I meant you can't simultaneously expand *all* categories at the same time. The default sidebox only expands the "current" category.

    As for the switch you originally asked about, the "Categories - Always Open to Show SubCategories" switch simply determines whether the default sidebox will show subcategories or not when you click on a parent category.

    ie: if set to true, and you click on DVD, you'll see:
    --->DVD
    ------>Action
    ------>Comedy
    ------>Sports
    (and the subcategories will *also* show in the main window, as usual)

    If set to false, you'll see:
    --->DVD
    (and then the subcategories are displayed in the main window ... but not in the categories sidebox)
