    Default Shipping weight problem

    I'm doing a few test purchases. I'll place an item that weighs 2.0 lbs. in my basket, and use UPS to ship. When I go to check out, my site says that shipping 3.2 lbs. worth of stuff. I've got each of my products weight set to 2 lbs though! where is the extra weight coming from?

    I have USPS module installed on Zen Cart 1.3.7.

    The USPS module is picking up 3 lbs as the default weight, could anyone tell me where it is getting that weight from, I have the weight set to 0 in all products.

    Thanks
    Pat B.

    Peek in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ... there are Tare weight settings that are set for your boxes and bubble wrap that change the 1lb product to 4lbs as 3lbs are added, by default ...

    Hi all,

    I have some problems with shipping charges,

    I was trying to make a list of shipping rates like,

    * Below 40g - $1
    * 41g ~ 100g - $1.50
    * 101g ~ 250g - $2 so on..

    Thus i wrote this on Table Rate,

    40:1,100:1.50,250:2,500:2.50,1000:4,2000:5

    I tried it on my cart, but it does not work. The estimated shipping cost was $6 for 165g of items when it should be $2. I check my Tare, it was 0:0.

    Secondly,

    I wanted to add another optional additional $2 fee for insurance, is there anyway i could add while checking out?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Ajeh,

    I have a store set up for selling auto accessories as well as used automobiles, obviously we cannot ship automobiles, yet we wish to ship the accessories. Is there a way to accomplish this easily, or will we need a mod of some sort?

    Regards,

    Michael
