You can delete it, or you can turn it off in the admin by clicking the green square at the right of the category and it will change to red - diabling it

Can you expand on why the hidden Category?
Do you want the Products show in the listings? sideboxes? centerboxes?

Hi Kobra and Linda,
sorry about the slow response. I've been sick. Actually the issue has resolved itself and I no longer need to make a "hidden" category.
Not to leave you hanging - the item in question was a donation (fund-raising for a small group of which one of my colleagues is the founder) and he thought, if we could combine the fund-raising aspect with the cart I'm setting up anyway, it would be ideal - but we didn't want it to look like we were soliciting funds for something that's really not part of our own line-up.
Anyway, as I said, the issue resolved itself. My colleague has decided he wants his group to have a zencart all their own. They've even offered to pay me to set it up for them - tee hee...
Hello,
I was very interested by Heather's question. i would need for a category of products to be "hidden", meaning that they wouldn't appear in the categories listing (of the full listing, specials listing, featured products or anything else), the only way to access them would be to know the exact URL.
Can this be done?
Thanks,
Nadine
hi
I use different languages for my cart. I have zen 1.3.7 with css flyout category sidebox added in. every language uses different template.
question: I want to have some categories shown on english language but not in german and not also in french, and some in french but not in other two languages, etc.
for this, header category tabs could help me and the category name that is not writen in admin won't be shown on that template related to it's language.
problem: in the category sidebox and in flyout sidebox there is still a blank place for these categories that are not "translated" in the respective languages.
any idea ? how can I resolve this problem?
the reason for this action is to have one zen cart with different not related shops (alternative multisite) that actually each shop will be selected by the client on the template default which contains all categories. so after going to his shop only specific categories for each templates will be shown.
thanks in advance
