Not able to recieve any emails from my site.

I seems that I'm not able to recieve any emails(new customers emails, new order emails, contact us emails, sold item and the rest of a customers credit card number emails) from my site to my isp email account. I've tried using a email account that is through my site it's self instead of the isp one and that didn't work, I also tried using a hotmail account. I've only started to get sales now but have had the site up for awhile before that and I'm pretty sure it was working when it was first set up. Can anyone please help me with this problem, I have no idea what to do. tell me if you need any further information if it can helf solve this problem. I thank you for your time.

Starsign, I am in the same spot as you. I was up till 3 am this morning trying to figure it out and nothing is working. I even tried sending emails from the ADMIN out to another email address and nothing is going through. I'm so fustrated, does anyone have any suggestions. Download and install the email archive manager from downloads - admin tools, and temporarily switch email archiving to true if you don't already have it enabled.

Send an email from admin, and check the archive manager to see if the email is listed. If so, and you get no errors while sending, then the basic shop mail functionality is operational ... but your host's mailserver is dropping the messages.

You then need to establish exactly what your hosts recommended email settings are, and what your admin-config-email settings are, and post them here.

Some ISPs block you from using anyone's outgoing mail servers but their own. This is to prevent the use of their internet connection for spamming purposes.

It might be worth a shot to find out how to add your store's domain
to your ISPs "white list", if you still have troubles after troubleshooting.

and the reply i got was

You need to configure the cart to use SMTP authentication. Failure to do so will prevent messages from being delviered.

Is your site hosted at a hosting service or are you hosting on your own server?

The port number might not always be 25 with SMTP Auth. An ideal solution would be to confirm with your host if they use the standard port for sending emails.

Nothing too unusual about their settings, port 25 etc,although they are a bit vague about whether your mail should be specifically one of theirs' or mail.yourdomain.com

Double check the smtp user name and p/word as well, one that bites me periodically is that my mail login to send mail with smtp is not the email address, but an actual domain user login - web_fred_admin, not [email protected]?

I suspect you need Send from known domain in email options set to true as well.
