Weight being displayed wrong

I input the weight of the product accurately in the Admin section of my catalog Categories/Products, but when I try to go to my online catalog it shows a product that I input as 150 lbs as 45 lbs. This is screwing my shipping costs up dramatically.

What could the problem be?

I just realized, it seems to be the shopping cart that is screwing things up. The product is displayed in the store at the correct weight, but when you put it in the cart it gives it some different weight characteristic. Usually much much lower than actual weight.

Where can this bee seen? What are your settings in the Admin> Configuration> Shipping?

My product is listed as 150 lbs then once added to the shopping cart get calculated as 70 lbs. Any idea why this is happening??

I still don't have this problem fixed. Anytime have any ideas....? It is listing in the product description as the correct weight and then in the cart it makes some bogus weight of 49.666667 lbs or something along those lines.

What is the setting in the Shipping/Packaging for:

Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship
Carriers have a max weight limit for a single package. This is a common one for all.

What this is doing is taking the 150 and the Tare and dividing up the weights between boxes ...

For your site, the number of boxes is rather usless ...

You might just want to switch that off ...

What sections of this shipping/packaging section should I turn off? I turned off the section that asks boxes/weight or both and I just put weight that seemed to help.

For Max weight I put it up to 200 lbs.

For the Small & LArge Tare packaging what should I be putting??

When I have one item it seems fine, but when I add more than one item it seems to divide again.

The default setting of 0:3 for the package tare seemed to be causing problems for me, specifically adding some mystery weight and bumping shipping way up.

I changed the value to 10:1, which adds 10% packaging weight for every 1 lb. of product weight, and now it's fine.
