Description code changes by itself ???

I did some editing that I thought was what you guys were telling me to do, but I guess I misunderstood...

I put in this :

saved the item and the info is spaced too far apart. SO went back in to edit and the code now looks like this :

I'm still trying to sort thru it to see what its changing.

its not helping me because I don't understand it. The only info I'm trying to check is the description and it goes thru the entire page and its coding. Maybe I'm in the wrong place or whatever, but I"m doing something wrong and its not helping!

Have you tried using the html editor mode?

Open the admin(starts a session) now tools > efines pages editor and select the html editor - now until you log out this will be the editpr used every where.

now go to your product description and use the word processing like editor to style this and save.

Kobra meant for you to look at the HTML tutorial (upper left corner) on that site. It explains tag usage pretty thoroughly.

He was mentioning something about validating and reading thru tutorials.... I've read thru all of what I could find and its not helping! I'm sorry, but I didn't write this to begin with, I started from the link that I showed above and from that screen...that way of viewing it and then I would click to see the code and gave showed the code to use, then when I found out I had priced a book wrong, I went in to edit the price and the code would change to what I've shown to you.
I took the code that he wrote, and put in my part and thought I had added or taken away what ever needed to be done so that what I put in there and see the first time STAYS that way, but it doesn't!
All of the reading of tutorials isn't going to help when I don't even know what I'm looking for.

Not at all. If you use unique class names for these bits, any styling in the stylesheet will affect only them. Even if you don't type each one in now, if you ever wanted to make any change in the appearance you would have to edit every single product separately. All of the font/size/color and much of the spacing can be controlled through the stylesheet, with one edit affecting all comic listings at the same time.

OK, can you give me a heads up on where to do this or WHAT to change? I really don't understand it at all. I don't type in the same info every comic, so not sure what I'm actually going to change. Will it change how I add books? Instead of a big description area, will it just be the boxes to fill in, for example a box with the heading Title, Condition, Volume . . . . like how my Tagbot works?

I'm sorry, I'm not usually this stupid

, but I've just never had such a problem with coding. I've missed a character and that changed something or had one too many >'s in there, but never had the thing change on its own after I've saved it, left the item, and then come back in. I guess I could just live with making sure I get it right the first time and then if I need to edit, delete and make a new one, but that just doesn't seem right to me either.

I'm not sure how, but I used HTML Kit and it "fixed" the code I guess. It point out some issues and fixed them and I used that and it seems to work. I can edit the book, save it, leave it and go back in and it all still looks the same

If you have made any modifications to the look of your site, you had to have edited the stylesheet. Get used to it - it will become your best friend.

Changing your description entry to this:

Add this to your /includes/templates/your_template/css/stylesheet.css:

For .comicStatsValue, you only need to specify the properties that differ; the rest are inherited from the parent (.comicStats).
The margin-top adds space above the whole stats section.
