Default Canada Post shipping & product attribute weight

    Hi,
I have a store which sells tea. The more you buy the lower the price. So I have an attribute setup which is for the weight.
A sample would be like this:

    4oz - 5.99
    8oz - 10.99
    16oz - 20.00

In using the Canada Post shipping module, it asks me to enter a weight of the product. How can I get around this because my weight is determined by the attribute?

So if I put a 16 oz order in my cart, the shipping is still only based on 4oz.

Is there anyway to just turn these extra features of CP off and have it work like it used to in the old version?
Or are these updates mandatory because of the CP system changes?

Any suggestions for what module I can use in replacement of CP in case it comes to that?

    Thank you

    Hi Tracey,

I hope you can help me with the Canada Post module. I unziped the file canada_post_shipping_module_1.3.7.1. It contains the files with the path. Do I just upload these files to the appropriate path as directed??

    Thanks

yes i believe there is also a sql update ...if you follow the read me file Or instruction file..it should have detailed instructions in there..

after the files are uploaded & sql is updated..i believe you just go into the shipping module and install again from there.

The module uses the weight of the product as determined by the shopping cart. This includes a calculation of attribute weight added to the master weight of the product.

I suppose you're saying that that's not working for some reason ?

Where are you seeing that it's based only on 4oz ?
