Default Customized sideboxes for categories

I am sure there must be a thread on it somewhere but I can't see to find it.

I would like to add customized sideboxes that display static information. I would like specific sideboxes to show based on category.

Can someone tell me how to do this? Or point me to a similar thread?

Thanks

you can get the blank sidebox or about us sidebox in the downloads/sideboxes area and make as many as you want

Each will then have a tag(#box name) and in the css by page (see the read me in the /css folder) you can use #box name { display: none; }

I understand CSS but I am not understanding this statement. Can you explain? Especially "tag(#box name) ".

OK I also read this thread:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...ight=page_name

I am confused in a couple of areas:

Is there an actual css file named page_name? Or do I create one for the products page?
page_name.css // changes to one page

c_??_??.css // changes to all info pages in a category
Also, if I used this file for the category would I name it c_3.css if my cpath was "3" for example?
http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?ma...=index&cPath=3
And do I just place these new CSS files in the /includes/templates/template_default/css/ directory?
Sorry to be asking such simple questions... I am just new to Zen Cart.
Thanks

You need to create this page and name it accordlingly
Also, if I used this file for the category would I name it c_3.css if my cpath was "3" for example? http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?ma...=index&cPath=3
Yes that is correct...
And do I just place these new CSS files in the includes/templates/template_default/css/ directory?
No, not templates/template_default/css. You should be creating your own "named" template for several reasons and this is in the FAQ's...it woul be along the line of

templates/What_ever_you_name_your_template/css

Some of this is in admin > config > layout settings > Categories Separator between the Category Name and Sub Categories > |_

Where the pipe and underscore are by default used and a space you can use what you prefer.

For the cat prefix you might need the "better categories" module installed

As this is dynamically created - there is not a html page per se - or as one normally thinks of a page. I will look to see if you provided more information about your issue in your other post

I opted to do as Kobra suggested in one of his posts and got the "blank_box" contrib fromt the download section.

I just finished it and it did exactly what I wanted. I do not particularly need my categories to be dynamic and I can change them as needed myself.

I still have more work to do, but that part sure was easy!
