help question Patching Zen Cart for Paypal

Not really a question, just want to make sure I'm going to do this right. After reading up on it here, it looks like, to apply the current Paypal patch to my shop (on 1.3.7), all I have to do is unzip the patch package, then FTP the ipn_main_handler.php and the includes folder to the shop folder ... is that right ? I guess I'm bumfuzzled because it appears to be an easy process, so wanted to make sure I'm correct on this before I do it, and not missing anything.

Of course, I'll backup the system files before FTPing the patch and test the Paypal modules after. Y'know ... newbies need a lot of hand-holding, don't they?

Thanks for the advice in advance,

That is correct. The idea is to be sure you're uploading files that actually replace existing files of the same names in the same folders.

It is also a good idea to write paste your settings to NotePad and then Remove, Install and reconfigure the module as well after the update ...

Thanks to both of you for the info, I've managed to update both sites with the patch, and it appears that both are working as expected. Hope I don't have to eat my words later today, though!

I guess now I'll have to look at putting in Paypal Express.

Zen Cart and it's crew are fantastic!

Again my first time doing a patch and a paypal patch in a working store so I do not want to mess things up. Do I have this correct

    ipn_mail_handler.php goes to /cart

    paypal.php
    paypalwpp.php /cart/included/modules/payment

and the rest wil over write /cart/included/modules/payment/paypal

Thanks for your help as soon as I get this site completed I will start helping others with their layout and design questions. I am just not as sure of myself with the php

    store is www.souldog.com/cart

I was able to answer my own question as I found out that wsftp has classic and wizard mode the classic was putting all the files in one location with no subfolders. Now everything makes since. I believe what I post above should be what you need if your ftp program opens all the files in one location.

If you unzip the file on your PC first, allowing it to extract folder information too, then you'll see clearly which folders each of the files go into.
