Default How to get rid of the yellow "Checkout with PayPal" button?

Right now in my shopping cart there is a "go to checkout" button of the same style as the "back to shopping" and there is an ugly yellow "checkout with paypal" button.

I think having just the "go to checkout" is better because the customer gets to create an account and see the total cost, including shipping, before proceeding on to PayPal.

In fact, I'd like to have all customers go through that procedure because otherwise they just end up at the PayPal page first without seeing the actual total cost of their purchase, including shipping, and I think it is a little off-putting. I think it is more reassuring and usual practice for the customer to enter their contact info and THEN proceed to payment.

    So...

How do I get rid of the yellow "checkout with paypal" button on the shopping cart page?

Is it possible to do the same thing on the checkout page, and require users to either login or register a new account to finish their order?

    Thanks,

    doug

Turn off the PayPal Express module in your Admin> Modules> Payment

But that is the only payment module being used. :)

With that module on, checkout proceeds through the several checkout pages and finally goes to the PayPal site - even though the customer never actually has to press the yellow paypal button.

The yellow paypal button just short-circuits the checkout procedure.

What I would like to do is enforce the entire checkout procedure without having that short-circuit yellow button as an extra option because I think it is confusing.

    Thanks,

So what is the difference between the paypal express module and the paypal IPN module?

Why did I bother installing the paypal express module, entering all that stuff from paypal in it and patching it to the latest version?

Well, I tried it and you are correct. It works just fine. In fact, it seems smoother than the paypal express module. Right there on the left side of the PayPal page is the option to pay by credit card and you can select your credit card right away. In fact, it looks even easier to pay by credit card than by PayPal. Very nice.

So what wast the PayPal Express module all about and why did I digress into messing with it to begin with? :)

    Many thanks!

    One little thing...

In the PayPal payment page, the total is correct, but it displays a shipping price of zero.

Shipping was correctly shown in the zc checkout, so I don't think that is too confusing for the customer, since the total is correct, but is it possible to get PayPal to just not display the shipping row at all and just the total - or even better have it take the shipping value from zc and show it instead of zero?

    Thanks,

    the total price is correct,
ZC passes a single total rather than splitting it out, this is because paypal dosnt handle discounts very well

Is it possible, then, to have PayPal's page simply not show a shipping row at all then - and just the total?

    Thanks,
