    help question Another IE issue

The design I'm working on has a static image at the top of the right column - I've added the blankside_box mod in order to add another image below it that I could turn on and off based on the page viewed. I have this working perfectly in FF, but for the life of me I can't figure out what is going on with IE. The box will not snug up to the top image the way I need it to in IE. When I play with adjustments to move it up, the image is cut off at the top. The site is located here - test site. You can see part of the image is missing in IE. Oh.. a side note - I got this to work perfectly on my local apache setup - so that confuses me even more.

I originally did this by hard coding the image into the right column, but I was concerned that could create other issues, so I removed it and put the image into a side box. I'll have to revert back to the other method if I can't find a workable solution.

Any help would really be appreciated.

The page currently does not validate - in case anyone is looking : ' ) - but I'm doing a bit of research to solve that - it's a separate issue. That is due to the fact I've used an image map within the html of the sidebox. It validated before I added the hotspots. I'm looking at some info on creating the map with .css as image maps will not validate, but I have to have separate links here.

This may not be of any significance, but when viewing via FF, web developer's kit shows following error...
Selector expected. Ruleset ignored due to bad selector.

Gosh I wish that had been it - had an extra bracket in there. I'm going to try something different and see if it works. I'm going to fill the box with the image as a background image - and see if that might help. At least I can move the box up using a negative margin on the rightBoxContainer - but you see the results of doing that in IE with a regular image.

Thanks so much taking the time to check it out... being the middle of the night here didn't think anyone would take a look. Really appreciate it.

Well that figures... my server is backing up and it gets cranky when it does that - so I'll have to wait a couple minutes till its done. I did try the background image and to no avail. It's the box itself being cut off. I'll have to hard code it back in darn it!

I always forget there are a bunch of folks from "across the pond" : ' ) - Well take a look now. I hard coded it back in darn it. Well another day when I have more energy, I'll figure it out. Problem is, it works perfect on my local system -

    Thanks again

Revisited.... looks fine in FF, but in IE7, using winXP, there is 2 pixel shortfall on right hand side of box in question..
Advice.. leave it for now.. get some sleep.. then investigate again.
