I too have encountered a similar problem recently. A couple of months ago I upgraded my client from 1.2.6 to 1.3.8. Everything was working fine until last week when one order came through missing credit card and cvv. The order indicated that it was a credit card order but none of the credit card data. All previous and subsequent orders worked properly and provided the credit card info. The offline credit card module is the only payment method installed. I am inquiring into the customers experience to see if they noticed anything unusual.
Has anyone gained insight into why this might happen?
Has your issue been resolved? If so how did you resolve it
We are experiencing the same problem. Its very embarrassing when we have to call our customer up and ask them for their CC number.
No. I never did determine how it happened. Although it happened to us only once since our upgrade to 1.3.8 and the site receives many orders a day. It happened only once in over 500 orders. This makes it difficult to troubleshoot - hard to reproduce.
With what frequency do you see the issue? Is there a way that you can cause it to happen predictably?
We have had just had this same problem - the order email came through but there were no card numbers - just an expiry date. Same when we log in and check the order in the admin area.
The card used in the order was also a Mastercard. We have had other successful orders up until now using Visa card where the card details came through ok.
Sounds as though everyone is having this split-digits problem.
I also had the split activated but only ever recieved the first 4 and last 4 digits.
Doesn't seem that anyone has solved this yet.
Have they?? If so how? Please.......
I have continued to see this missing "Extra CC digits" email only occasionally over hundreds of orders this past year. Then last week we observed a missing order confirmation order (copy of the customer's confirmation sent to the store owner). The customers have never failed to get confirmations. This was starting to sound like a problem with the server email, not Zencart. I checked with my hosting provider to see if they kept a log of email sent from the server. I gave them the anticipated subject lines with the order numbers of the missing emails. The hosting company showed records of all emails being sent successfully. They also indicated that on that particular hosting account the MX record for the email sent the email to an offsite server (which we had intentionally set up some time ago). This indicated that the email may have been lost downstream of our shopping cart sever that sent the mail.
I checked with the IT folks at the destination server and forwarded the email logs asking them where the email might have gone. They noted that the source of each email came from a different IP address. Some of these IPs were, for whatever reason, identified as spam by the receiving server. None of these IPs had been whitelisted except for the server hosting the cart. It turns out that our cart server uses any of a number of the servers hosted by our hosting company for delivery of emails (thus the different IPs). I took this up with the hosting company that said we could enabled "domain keys" which would force all email to come from the cart IP. I am hopeful that this will resolved the issue.
I don't know if sort of thing is the situation for any of you having this issue, but it may be worth checking into.
I seem to be having similar issues as to those outlined here. What happens in my situation is that sometimes the credit card information (or rather, the credit card's "0000XXXXXXXX0000" simply isn't in the admin when I review an order. When this happens in my store, I get a "Warning Configuration Error" email that tells me that my email address isn't set up in the offline processing module in the admin, regardless of the fact that it is. I only get this "configuration error" email when the credit card number has failed to make it to the database...it's really strange. What's even weirder is that the interior eight digits are included in the email. This odd behavior seems to happen at random. I, like others who have experienced this issue, am having a lot of difficulty duplicating this behavior. Most of the time this doesn't happen, but it really does suck when I have to call a customer for their credit card number. They usually finally give it, but they are understandably suspicious of me when I call them. It certainly doesn't make for good customer relations.
The only payment modules that I have installed are "Check and Money Order," and "Offline Processing." I'm using Zen Cart version 1.38a, with the admin security patch that came out several weeks ago.
Please, if anyone has a clue as to what the problem is, and/or a way to fix it, let me know.
You could try this module instead: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=1277

I upgraded a customer's cart in November - his had been hacked so I didn't use any of the old files - essentially a fresh start. As of Dec 30th, the emails with the missing 8 digits stopped coming.
We've tried sending to several different addresses in case the emails were getting caught in a spam filter but the same thing happens to each one.
