Help with header stuff

I'm not too sure what happened and why but in the logoWrapper division in tpl_header I had a logo div as the very first syntax. I removed this and things started to fall into place. A bit of padding here and there (maybe not the best way) and things started to work how I expected.

I guess the lesson is really keep an eye on your div's and before you start and as things get better back_up your files so you have something to refer to.

My only other query is the #headercontent background image has black underneath (background:#000 url('../images/svlogo2.jpg') center center no-repeat;....if I remove the black I lose the image. The black runs to the page edges regardless of padding stopping me from having a border of the #mainwrapper texture around the image. Not sure why or what I can do.

Well I do not know why you have added a div headContent and others that you have added whenall that you should require did exist by default.
#logo
#logoWrapper
#headerWrapper
and so forth

Your Image looks as it should be in #logoWrapper, the mor you depart from the standard the less assistance that can be provided directly.

yeah I agree..the template was passed on to the friend with no knowledge and when she asked for help with my limited knowledge I did not think I knew enough to start from the base template...the given one being much closer to the desired outcome.

On reflection it would have been easier to go back to scratch and use support. That said I have learn't heaps and its been kinda fun!

On the plus side the rest of the cart seems as is so things should get easier.
