red flag Need Help with SSL!!

Can someone please help me, I've been working at this all day and ready to toss the pc. LOL Ok my host (Yahoo) only offers shared ssl, they will not let you set up your own. I would like to avoid switching hosts at this moment if I can.
The way theres works is you have to create a sub directory /ssl and put any files you want secured in that.
I couldn't figure out what files were just for the customer log in, check out or admin areas. So I moved the whole store into the ssl folder. Yup you guessed it the entire thing runs under SSL mode now. I really don't want this.
One of the reasons I don't want to run entirely under secure mode is that the domain will look like this https://s.p3.hostingprod.com/@(username) I want my store domain to be my www.domainname.com I also just don't think there is a need to run the whole thing under ssl mode....
I want my store in the root dir.

Can some one please tell me what files/folders I need to move into an ssl folder and how to point zencart to find them?
    Thank you so much,

you need to put a complete set of files in th SSL folder

then you need to modify the configure.php files in the NON SSL folder

make sure the define for ssl is set

then you need to do the same for the SSL Folders
and you also need to reset the actual server paths

    /path/to/your/ssl/files/here

Merlin knows heaps more about this that me and will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that even if you get this working correctly, it will still show the domain that's not yours on the secure pages and any visitor inspecting the SSL certificate will see that it doesn't belong to you.

Thank you Merlin, its running now! Just one more question if you don't mind.
If I go to my site www.homestead-acres.com and log in as a customer it goes to the secure server. That's what I wanted, but if I log out it stays there. And if I click on any of the home links it still takes me back to the secure site. Same thing after check out is completed. Shouldn't it be able to switch back to the unsecured site at that point?
    Thank You,

Ok I checked the files and changed a setting. Now if I click on the home links it will take me back to the unsecured site. But if I log out it still keeps me on the secured one....

So are you say that I need to copy all the file's in the Zencart folder into the /ssl foder? Doing this, does this mean that everytime I make a change or add something to the NON-ssl files, I have to make the same changes to the ssl files?

If that's how your host has configured their servers to work with SSL then yes.

Obviously that's a real PITA and an alternative approach is to switch to a host who doesn't force you to do that, such as the one giving advice in this thread, or one of the other Zen Cart approved hosts.
