Ok, our company (www.kontrolfreek.com) is a Usa based company. Our cart is here www.kontrolfreek.com/zencart What we are looking at doing is having a distributor in the UK. Part of our agreement with them is we will not sell product to the UK from our cart, but force the user to use their cart. how i can do this with zencart, is there a way to tell those who try to use a UK address that they need to go to another site to do so? Oxbow Books (UK company) has a front page that asks if you are in the US or UK (with links to click) and redirects you accordingly if you are in the US to the David Brown Book Company. I believe it is all on their site, but you could probably do a mutual redirect with your distributer's site.

we are planning on doing this same thing, but if someone from the uk does accidently go to our shopping cart and not theirs, then how to i keep them from buying off our site, it wouldnt be that big of a deal, but i will have a contract that states i can not take uk orders, so i need zencart to not allow uk orders. thanks

You can set shipping zones in admin, and set up areas from which the cart will not take orders.
I'll have to go look to see just where you would do that.

looks like instead of saying i wont ship to here, i will have to pick every place i will ship and leave out where i wont

I think you're right, unfortunately, except for the Zone Rates shipping method - that allows you to specify a country for which the method is not available. If that's your only shipping method, you're set.

Otherwise, I think you can set up a Zone Definition once (excluding the UK) and select that in shipping modules.

In Locations/Taxes > Zone Definitions, click "insert" and you will get a new zone box. Enter name (say Non-UK) and description and insert. Then click on details, select country, insert, and repeat ad nauseam. Oh well, at least you only have to do it once.;)

so i have to add each one seperately, agh lmao
