UPS Shipping but mutliple boxes

Trying to figure out how to do the following

I have to ship my items in multiple boxes (due to weight), so if a customer buys say, 1-4 items it comes in one box, 5-6 come in two boxes, and so on.

I have some orders that go to the same address in 10 boxes all via UPS. So how can I get this to work in the ups shipping module? The problem is how to I designate that it takes more than on box. All I see is the weight blank. So if it weights 200 pounds, it goes in two boxes each 100 pounds. Of course one 200 pound box ships differently than two 100 pound boxes, go figure.

Please advise.

Under Configuration > Shipping/Packaging. You can set the maximum weight of a box, so it'll split it into multiple boxes if over a certain weight. (I haven't played with this much, so don't ask me how...just a place to start looking!)
