Default A bit of SSL help

    Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out my last remaining SSL problem. When a user logs into my site they are redirected to https. They can surf and browse products as normal under https. The problem is that when they add something to their shopping cart...it transfers then back to http. The shopping cart is always http. So when a user surfs around the site they are always juggling back between secure and non-secure. This really doesn't bother me but I've had a few customers comment on it. Once they begin the checkout process everything is secure.

Is there anyway to force the checkout page to be secure as well. I've tore through the config files and everything seems to be setup correctly. Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

The secure and non-secure pages change based on where you are ...

If logging in or checking out you are on secure ...

If shopping through the store you do not need to be secure ...

The various pages know how to switch between the secure and non-secure when you are setup correctly ...

After surfing the site with a few different browsers I think this may just have been a case of Firefox giving you a small warning that you are surfing from a secure to non-secure page. Nothing major but just a small scare for an unexperienced shopper.

Have you an URL that we can peek at and poke around a bit to tell you if this is how it works?

There are ways to eliminate things that go bump in the night ... but usually you will be on a secure page and 100 links can be clicked no warning ... it is the ones that perform submits that will throw a warning ...

I just figured out exactly where and why this occurs.

I overwrote the default navigation bar with a set of static links. Some point to a higher level category page and others point directly a a page of products.

When you head to the category pages the system 'knows' this and changes to http automatically. But when I link straight to a page of products, the system doesn't change the urls to http since I am kinda going around the system. Those are the pages that throw up a warning when I add an item to the cart.

I've been going through and reworking the pages so I will re-organize things to fix this.
