How to deselect if 1 radio-button?

I've done a search in Google and here in the ZenCart forums, but wasn't able to find anyone asking about. So here it goes:

- If I've understood correctly, downloads ONLY work with radio-buttons? Im asking cause instructions for setting up downloads in attributes said so.

- If I have a product that can be downloaded or purchased in physical shape. The download would then be a radio button, in it's own selection menu (this menu contains only the choice: download). So in case the customer doesnt desire the download he/she should be able to deselect that radiobutton. But in other words, the best would be if the customer can select the download, in case he wants to buy it (not that the download is selected as default as soon as you access that products' page).

I've seen around that Its possible to just create another radio-button that says "select from below", but I'd prefer an other way of achieving this if it's possible.

I'd like the one menu containing the download, to only contain download, thus 1 choice only. Therefore I was wondering if it would be possible to keep this radio deselected as default (radio deselected as default in a menu that contains only 1 radio)?
