Problem Downloading Digital Product

Hi All Guru,

My site sells digital products and I am currently testing out my site. All is fine except when the customer clicks on the product to download, he is not able to download the actual zip file in the download folder. Instead, the customer is prompted to download a index or corrupted zip file.

Please advice. I have tried several hours performing troubleshooting but to no avail.

Is this a windows or unix site?

If windows, turn off the Redirect in the Configuration ... Attribute Settings ...

If unix, check with your host and see if there is a problem handling symbolic links and if they can fix this ... there is an .htaccess file in /pub that reads:

#prevent directory browsing -- for security
IndexIgnore */*

Options +FollowSymLinks -Indexes

Make sure /pub is set to 777 ...

What size are your downloads?

What happens if you make a download that is 100k? Does this small file work?

If so, try a file of 1 meg ... does this work?

If so, try a file of 3 meg ... does it work?

If not, check with your host on the file size limitations of downloads on your site ...
