Linkpoint Authorize/Capture/Refund questions

Hello all,

I have a few questions about the Orders info for the Linkpoint API. I am currently using it in test mode:

Where do I find the order number to use for the Capture function? Or does it just not show up until I set Linkpoint to Production?

Is the test transaction mode only good for testing the connection between my site and Linkpoint, or is there another reason to do this?

After changing to Production, should I only use valid credit cards or can I use the test credit card numbers available for Visa and MC?

My previous website was a canned package where I didn't have to know anything LOL, so I may have a few more questions.

I believe you'll only see 000000 as an auth code when in test mode. Hence, you'll have to wait until Production to do any real transactions of that nature.

Its *only* purpose is to test communication. In fact, if I had my way, I'd *never* offer a test mode in any payment modules ... because of the same confusion factors you are expressing. You're not alone.

In production mode, if you use fake or not-real or test credit card numbers, the transaction will be rejected.

But, you should certainly test some real numbers in production mode, and be comfortable that the collected money, even just 25 cents, gets from your card to the bank account as expected. You can refund other transactions too.
