A question about Advanced search and multi site module

hi, I see the multisite can filter categories between defined sites. the problem comes, when you are searching something in one site by using advanced search, there, you see all the categories (also from the other sites!!) , and it makes a confusing for the customer who doesn't see these other categories in the category side box of the current site and even by selecting one of them in search of his key word, the result is no product when this category belongs to the other site.

queston: is there any problem in my installation that in advanced search I see all the categories ( so the categories that not belong to this site )?
if yes, where can be the fout?
if no, is there any way to resolve this problem?

Well spotted. I know this problem, I just didn't have time to fix it. Basically, all I have to do is fix the query using the usual cat_filter() function...

It will be done soon.

I have a site using multisite and its working perfect!! Thanks a lot!

The only thing is the above mentioned problem regarding search option..

Would you know how to fix this? I tried to modify modules/sideboxes/search_header.php.. but didn't work

Using multi-site is it possible to have a “master” admin for all stores, but then there be different admins per store that can only perform limited functions eg they can NOT edit the inventory (eg pricing and specials) but they can process their clients’ sales, create gift certificates and discount vouchers etc.

The only way I thought this may be possible was by using the “Admin Profiles” module, however my understanding is that it only stops the onscreen display it doesn’t actually stop the user from access the function (eg if the user knew the correct URL they could type it in and get to the function) – this doesn’t provide the level of control required to separate the ADMINS in the model we require.

Can the above be done, any suggestions…..?

or maybe url about latest developments, fetures, etc ?

what I am looking maybe such an Amazone ones, where we can have main shop, and we can have partners which can manage their own products and also they need to responsible about it too.

is this already done ?

Where do we add the cat_filter() function to stop the search from returning categories that should not be available to the store being searched.
