Add Product page

I was just wondering if there was a mod or somthing that would make the add product page alittle better. Or atleast the discription part. All you can do as add text you cant edit the text at all IE: make bold or underline. Change font or anything like that. Cube cart was much better in that regards... Although that was about it! zen is much better overall. But I would really like to beable to customize my product pages. Add pictures in the discriptions like pictures of logos of features of products. Cubecart i use to be able to go to the manufacture and take there cool pictures pertaining to features of the product. And add graphics to the discription. If anyone knows plz help.

You have two choices: If you know HTML, you can add any tags you wish including images or links ito the description.
If you don't, you can choose to use an HTML editor in the description entry box (set this in Configuration > My Store > HTML Editor.) This will give you the ability to do some styling.

If you know CSS, you can use id and class tags in the description and style those in your stylesheet, making individual descriptions simpler to write.

It is also possible to change the product info page layout to almost anything you can imagine. Some of the changes are very simple and others are more complex to do.

gjh42 has already given you the answer, but HTMLarea is not the best in the world when it comes to adding images. An alternative - FCKEditor - is available in the downloads section and is much better in many respects.

could you advise the file and changes to make - I want the default font in htmlarea to be Verdana 10 rather than Times New Roman 12.

Why? The output is governed by your stylesheet.

Ok - just did not know where to go to make the change. On new products descriptions and etc. I prefer Verdana to be the default rather than the Times New Roman.

As I said, you set those up in your stylesheet (includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/stylesheet.css ). To find which class affects what, either use Firefox as your browser with the excellent Web Developer Toolkit and Firebug add-on tools, or go to the page you want and use View Source.
