I was using ie7 while checking my stats yesterday, and to my surprise a warning popped up saying that the site you are viewing may be a phishing site.

I don't mind telling you that I'm already pi$$ed off at Bill and crew for turning ie into a police action against any store that doesn't have an SSL. But now they are telling my customers that I'm only collecting their info so that I can invade their privacy in some way.

Fortunately, through the heated red haze of anger I saw the tiny little link that said to report this link if this box is in error. I had to push back the urge to lash out at the fact that I've been judged guilty before being proven innocent and click on the link.

After clicking I found that I could address the problem by filling out a form stating that I am the owner of the store, and had to explain why I collected data about my customers and what the function of the web site was.

I just received the following email.
Notice the link is to my awstats logs

Now I don't know why it was the awstatas that kicked in their filter but man I'm still boiling over this.

What other pages are warning my customers away because Microsoft considers themselves the end all be all of internet security and that any website that collects info on their customers is deemed to be phishing.

I have a good mind to shred my MCP Certificates and mail them to Bill.
