Long time reader, first time poster... and I realize this topic has been beaten to death.

I'm running two Zen cart stores from a 1and1 virtual hosting account. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the speed of both stores. I've read every thread I could find about slowness and improving speed and tried many tweaks but have seen negligible gains. Not to mention that I've surfed many other (more elaborate) Zen cart installs that are significantly faster!

I feel like the load times will deter customers from using the sites. So tonight (on the advice on some members of this forum) I sent a simple email to my hosting company.

I would like to know if it would be possible to move to another less crowded server. I have several sites that rely heavily on PHP/SQL, I've done as much optimizing as I can on my end, and am still experiencing slow load times. Thank you
And here is their response.

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this has caused on you. Please optimize your scripts relative to memory usage and CPU time. Our system automatically stops scripts that use too many system resources.
Lovely. Hmm I wonder...do these guys even read support requests or do they just paste in canned responses? Time to move to a new "zen cart certified" host I suppose... Any input would be appreciated. Cheers
