    Default Problem with everything past Checkout page

    Hiya Folks!

    Lemme repost this since Linda and I got ALL off track the first time I put this up . Linda I promise I'll work on the pics as soon as the cart works again!

    I think I've had a MAJOR mishap. We just uploaded the cart to the server and it worked fine in tests. I decided to test it again since it was live and discovered a problem. I get kicked to the generic microsoft problem page when I try to log in from the Checkout page. If I reload I'll be logged in but it boots me to the same plage during checkout. It also won't give me shipping rate quotes anymore. My computer genius (yeah right) who did this for me now tells me he accidentally deleted some files from Admin when he did the upload?!? Is that causing my problem? If I have to reinstall the whole cart is there a way I can save my catalog and configurations and put them into a new download? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated... it was sooo close.... If anyone would like to take a peek it's www.gcstoys.com

    Try to re-upload the files from an un-zipped distribution(your same version) as this will overwrite the ones there and add any that are missing.

    This assumes that you used the override system and your own template...

    Actually we hadn't got as far as custom templates yet everything was still on the default template I believe. Would a reload from before files were deleted still work?

    If this is a backup and this backup contains ALL the files then yes

    Yep, backup is what I meant. Now I've got make sure my computer wiz actually made a backup!

    Just a bit of insight or opinion:

    Any "whiz" that does not backup before doing anything to a site is too arrogant to be trusted.

    I agree, I think it's a matter of "getting what I paid for" unfortunately. Is there a way to copy the files that make up the catalog and upload them to a new cart? If so, could you tell me which files I'd need? I'm sure I'd need the image files, etc... Looks like it's going to be a busy week of rebuilding.

    We started talking about "backup" and this encompasses all the files and unless there is a problem this is what I recommend - all the files.

    Sorry, I found out he never made a backup, so I'm going to have to rebuild it all I guess. I was just hoping to save some time. I can only assume the missing admin files are causing the trouble since it worked fine on the other server.

    If rebuilding from scratch - start fresh with a complete install of the most current Zen Cart files and proceed from there.
