Customizations Not Working?!?!

I'm a new Zenner and I've read tons of threads and posts on the forum. My problem is that after creating a new template used the overrides system I can't get my edits to take. The changes are reflected in the various files but my webpage looks the same http://oneposhshop.com/Shop.

I wanted to edit the following:

1. The meta tags and title
2. "Copyright © 2007 Zen Cart. Powered by Zen Cart"
3. "TagLine Here"
4. " Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™ E-Commerce Solution."
5. "Main Page Sample Text ... This section of text is from the Define Pages Editor located under Tools in the Admin.
To remove this section of the text, delete it from the Define Pages Editor."

To accomplish this I've used the Developer's Tool Kit to locate the various files and I've edited the correct lines as per instructions in various threads. My code reflects these changes but the website seems to be ignoring them.


(I will post the direction that I followed as well as my current code in another post momentarily to minimize scrolling and facilitate comparison)

You have to create a template override in the language folder as well.

So in /includes/language/english/templatename/ and copy the files in /includes/language/english/ here. but not the folders.

In /includes/language/english/html_includes/templatname and copy the html_includes files into here.

so you have to create the template folder into the paths to the english files and html_includes file.

Does that make sense?

I've done that already. I've edited the following files for my various issues:

1. Meta Tag & title Edit:
includes/languages/english/Posh by Trois Soeurs/meta_tags.php

2. Copyright Edit:
includes/languages/Posh by Trois Soeurs/english.php

includes/languages/english/Posh by Trois Soeurs/header.php

4. "Congratulations!..." Edit
includes/languages/english/Posh by Trois Soeurs/index.php

5. "Main Page Sample Text ..." Edit
includes/languages/english/html_includes/Posh by Trois Soeurs/define_main_page.php

I also deleted the text from the Define Pages Editor in the Admin but every time I go back to it the text is still there.

I pretty sure I've done everything correctly, that's why I'm so confused!

NOTE: You would really be better off without the spaces in your custom template directory name ...

Do you think that could be the cause?

I am not positive but with the number of replacements for words and terms and just how the web runs, it is better not to use spaces, special characters, caps, etc.

I went through and changed the names to Posh_by_Trois_Soeurs and then I reselected Posh_by_Trois_Soeurs as my template from the Admin. Now when you visit the url:http://oneposhshop.com/Shop its blank. any suggestions?

Could you switch to Classic for a minute and make sure all is working?

Did you change all override directories on your site?

I switched to Classic and the site is no longer blank.

With respect to the override changes, I never made any folders for my template in the "modules" folder

I tried to make a new template which I named "posh" (eliminating any possible spa to see if thcing issues) to see if thta would restore anything to the site so I wouldn't be stuck with classic as the only working template. I copied all of the files from the various Posh_by_Trois_Soeurs folders and I changed the template_info.php file and then selected the new tempate from the admin but it's still blank.
