Problem with shipping setup

I'm trying to setup shipping on my first zen cart site and I'm getting a bit confused over free shipping options, freeshipper and zones.

I want to make postage outwith the UK a flat rate of £4.95.

I want to make postage within the UK a flat rate of £1.95 for orders under £10 and free for orders over £10.

I've tried searching the forum but seem to keep going in circles.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try the Zones method.... set up a zone first for all in the UK and the 2 price levels selecting by price as the method and create the table for under 10 and over 10 and another zone that includes the other areas that you will ship to and a corresponding table

There's obviously still a problem somewhere but I can't work out where.

I'd be grateful for further suggestions.

Check this in theFAQ's and wiki, as you also have to set a zone as default (GB) and is "00" correct for representing the rest of the world?
