Problem with index.php

I installed last week and i have made NO modifications to the index.php file. when i go to my site i get the index list of folders. this is also occuring in the /admin .

Suggestions?

Do you, by any chance use cPanel on your host? If so, then you can go to the Index Manager, and turn indexes off. That will, then only show the pages, and not the indexes.

By the way, If I add "index.php" to the URL you posted, I get Your fresh install of ZenCart. (congratulations page)

ya. i do use cpanel.. and turned indexes off. now i get the forbidden page. i am unsure if you noticed when you added the index.php to the end. if you click on the home link you get the index files also.

i have used zen cart several times in the past and have never had this before
