Stock controlled from external source?

We have a client who has a physical shop and an online shop and wants to be able to manage the stock levels externally, so if the shops sells 3 items in one day they can update the stock levels without editing this in zencart. This is crucial to get right as they are looking at getting another 2 shops so they need to manage stock from one location rather than all 3 shops logging into zencart

ie load a file or manage stock from one central location
the shops then subtract each time they sell an item,
the online shop also subtracts each time it sells

They all link together to update at a set time to have an exact stock level

Does anyone know if this is possible or is this something that can be programmed?

Use Easy Populate....
You can download your entire inventory into a spread sheet, then all you have to do is on a daily, weekly, whatever basis change the stock inventory for what they sold in the spreadsheet and import it into ZC using Easy Populate
