Stuck with Picture Problem

Hi Everyone,

I am having some issues with my picture sizes...I downloaded Irfanview and resized/renamed all of my pics and separated them into imagename_lge, imagename_med, imagename_small folders in My Pictures. What do I do now to have Zen Cart read them and place them appropriately?

I believe my problem may lie in the fact that my web guy was the one who downloaded and installed the cart to it's not actually INSTALLED on my computer....I am only able to add products etc. at mystore/admin

What should I do? Where do I need to put these pictures? On the product page which size picture do I put in?

Also, I have a few items that have different pictures instead of "larger image," they have close up pictures, not just a larger version of the same picture. How do I set that up? Also with these items, I have 1 style of dog collar for instance, it comes in 2 different colors. Can I configure the cart to change the picture to the picture of the collar that is the color that they choose from the drop down menu? Or, if it's easier, can I display all of the different colors with 3-4 different pictures?

I know it's a lot, I hope this makes sense, but, my main problem right now is what to do now that I have all of my pictures resized and separated....

That's all good and well if you can understand where exactly everything is going to and from...I've read that thread and others a million times....still doesn't give me any info on my actual problem....

DO I HAVE TO HAVE ZEN CART INSTALLED ON MY OWN PERSONAL PC TO UPLOAD PICS TO BE ON THE PAGE?????

That I suppose is the main question....

I am so frustrated...

Can I buy and download a new template if I didn't actually install Zen Cart on my PC???? I don't think so but please give me more info...

Bottom line is web guy is no longer working for me but there is nothing physically downloaded to my computer....I only have the site admin name etc. to work on things.....

What are my limitations and what do I need to have full access to change things.....????

I will go into more detail and probably ask more questions about the collar situation later....

I have never installed Zen Cart on my computer ...

I have full copies Zen Cart of any site that I work on on my computer that I can FTP to any site that I have setup or work on ... so that I have a clone so to speak ... but I do not and never have run Zen Cart from my computer ...

I prefer reality and that is on a server ...

Images I load from my computer via the browser for the original base image but then I FTP the medium, large, additional small and additional large images ...

I only use a good FTP program such as FlashFXP and a good TEXT editor such as UltraEdit to touch the files that I need to change ...

So no, you do not need a running version of your site on your computer ... but you should have a full copy on your computer for making customizations and backup purposes incase of a problem on your site ...
