    Default Options name manager

    Hello everybody,

I defined 5 categories of products and defined an option name "G size" in the Option name manager. I gave 4 values to this option name. I then used the "Add ALL Option Values to ONE Category of products for Option Name" menu to assign the above option values to the products of category 1. Everything went OK...

I then defined a second option name "B Size" and I gave 5 values to it. I then tried to use the "Add ALL Option Values to ONE Category of products for Option Name" menu to assign the above option values to the products of category 2. Unfortunately, I get the following error message: "WARNING: No Products found ... Nothing was updated" (the category 2 contains 37 products). Moreover, in the "Add ALL Option Values to ONE products for Option Name" menu, the only products that are listed are the ones of category 1!?

Does anyone see what the problem is and how I can solve it?

Thanks in advance for your response!

If you read the entire subtitle of the operation carefully, you will see that it says
"Update ONE Category of products, when the product has at least ONE Option Value..."
This only works on products that already have an attribute. I don't know why - it may have something to do with the way the database is set up or accessed, and products don't appear in the table being updated until they have an attribute.

Maybe it worked for your first category because the table was completely empty and that affected how it was searched?

    Thanks for your reply.

I imagine you are right. This means that it will be necessary to manually set at least one option value for each product of the category 2?

Isn't there a quicker method to do this?

You could define a Product with just this Option Name and its Option Values then copy that to each Category to add the Option Name and Option Values in the Attributes Controller ...

NOTE: Backup before using thing feature ...
