Default Downloading product error - Sorry. File not found.

I have zip files in my store. I finally got them to work so I can see the download link after checkout (there was no clear documentation on how to create downloadable products). But now when clicking on the download link I get this message:

Sorry. File not found. Please contact the webmaster to report this error.
    c/f: http://store.chscrapbooks.com/downlo...esolutions.zip

The url is correct. It doesn't matter if I have redirect on or off I get the same message. Why am I getting this message and how do I fix it?

    1. In the attribute controller for that product, what have you entered for a filename?
You should have *only* the filename, not a URL.

    2. In Admin->Catalog->Downloads Manager, do you have red dots or green dots?
Red means the file cannot be found.

I had read all those but I must have missed that you enter only the file name. Is there a way to use downloads on another host?

No, there is no built-in way to support downloads from another host.
    Why?
    Security and fraud-prevention.

How would you manage security for that? Or do you intend to hand out the download link to the customer, who can hand it out to their friends for free ... ?
