Define Pages / EZ Pages

Can someone please tell me what the difference btw ez pages and define pages is?

I want to use the about us mod to create a couple of new pages, one for links and the other for a bit of hitory of the area we operate in. I've been told to use ezpages and the ezpages sitemap mod to get this to work, but from what i've read simply using the about us mod would be much easier.

is this true?

does google have the same problems indexing defined pages as it does indexing ezpages?

Your option - defines requires several additional files be created and a few edits to others for each additional page.

ez pages can be created, placed and managed fully from the admin

I'm working with page_2.php file which I saved in my /zencart/languages/english/custom directory after I made changes to it. It currently reads:

define('NAVBAR_TITLE', 'European Art Gallery');
define('HEADING_TITLE', 'European Art Gallery');
define('TEXT_INFORMATION', 'Page 2 information goes here.');
?>

Page 2 is already customised the way I want it, also I replaced the link in the More Information sidebox with the name I want.

I cannot figure out what the define('TEXT_INFORMATION' does. If I replace 'Page 2 information goes here' phrase it doesn't seem to show up anywhere... I checked in define pages editor, also searched for an existing 'Page 2 information goes here' text string - nowhere to be found...

I would appreciate some information as to what it is supposed to do and where it is showing up? Thanks.

But have you or are you entering the "Content" that you want on this page in the includes/languages/english/html_includes/custom/define_page2.php file either through the admin or to the file using your editor?

This is the file that you edit to display your content and as you have done, the page2.php file for the displayed titles.

Well I changed the "Content" via the the Admin, define pages editor and it does show what I I changed there but
if I replace the "Page 2 information goes here" defauult phrase in page_2.php directly it doesn't seem to show up anywhere... or have any effect on my edited via define editor "Contents" ...

I do not know wjere this shows up or what it's function is...but If your defines page edits via the admin are showing up then this is all that I care about...

I do not concern myself with what I can not see. If it doesn't render then I don't care

I have read all the posts, and done what Kobra has said, but am encountering a different problem.

The Define Pages has been named Product Information and is the top left side box.

Now the E-Commerce tab is the page_5 that I have tried to add.

Now the page_2 has the link of

http://store.jumpnetwork.com.au/inde...in_page=page_2

But the new page_5 that I created has the link of

http://store.jumpnetwork.com.au/inde...ILENAME_PAGE_5

I have no idea what to do. I have checked all the files I edited, and can't find this any where.

Any help would be great.

I printed out your notes,and followed the instructions.

What file actually has the link to the page?
