Store Pick Up Tax Problem

Hi, I am working on an online store giving the option of STORE PICK UP in CT (US) for which CT ST SALES TAX should be calculated and applied, but it is not... I've got everything working so that for orders that will be shipped to CT, the CT ST Sales Tax is being applied, but it isn't working for orders picked up and I have the Store Location as CT... This is what I have specified in the Store Pickup Module... For Tax Basis I am given only two options, as you will see below, not the STORE option, and I don't know why and could this be the problem? In Config-> My Store,

I have "Basis of Product Tax" set to "STORE" and it calculates on pick ups at the rate where *the store is*.

For the tax zone on the shipping module you have here, I'd say to calculate on Store Zone IF the shipping/billing zone equals the store zone. That way, whichever address is in CT and it is a store pick-up, the tax should calculate. It works in mine and I have it set up this way.

Thank you for posting a reply, I made the change you suggest, but it is only working in some cases - the situation here is there are NY people with NY shipping and billing addresses and MA people with MA shipping and billing addresses who would very likely come to the "store" (I have it in quotes because it is not really a store, but we are offering pick up at workshops... etc...) to pick up their order and that is in CT, so my one test case that isn't working has a NY address and places an order and wants to pick it up in CT so should be charged CT state sales tax (6%)...I keep wondering why in the store pick up module I don't have the option of STORE for the tax basis? Helen

This might work for you. I haven't tried it.

Turn on Zone Shipping and make a "pickup- CT, pickup-MA" zone codes or something similar. I believe you can add to the zones under "Location/Taxes." In the Zone Shipping module there is an option for turning on tax based on store location. turn it on.

I don't know if this will show up on the shipping estimator or check out -- you'll have to try it to see. IF it does show up, then I would think this would fix the problem and calculate tax only on those out of state orders coming to pick up.

If you try it, let me know if it works for you. I'd be interested and there may be others who would also benefit from your experiment.

Did anybody ever figure this out? I tried the above suggestions, but it didn't work for me.
